PDFM8 Privacy Policy

Effective 13 August 2026

PDFM8 processes PDFs locally in your browser. Your documents are never uploaded to PDFM8 or the developer.

PDFM8 does not operate a server, require an account, include advertising, or use analytics or tracking technologies.

Data PDFM8 processes

PDFM8 processes files that you explicitly select or drop into the workspace. This is required to display page previews and perform requested operations including merging, splitting, reordering, rotating, extracting, deleting, compressing, OCR, watermarking, annotations, signatures, and password protection.

PDF content remains in extension memory while the workspace is open unless you explicitly enable Workspace Recovery. Recovery stores document bytes and workspace settings in IndexedDB inside your local Chrome profile. You can clear this saved workspace from PDFM8 at any time.

PDFM8 stores the thumbnail-size and recovery preferences in browser local storage. It never stores an export password.

Permissions and network access

PDFM8 requests no Chrome extension permissions or host permissions. Its PDF, OCR, and security engines and English OCR model are packaged with the extension. Tools work without a network connection.

Sharing, selling, and retention

PDFM8 does not collect, sell, share, or remotely retain personal information. The developer cannot access, recover, or delete your documents because the developer never receives them. You control input files, downloaded outputs, and any optional recovery copy on your device.

Children

PDFM8 is a general-purpose document utility and is not directed to children. It does not knowingly collect personal information from children or other users.

Changes

If PDFM8's data practices change, this policy and the Chrome Web Store privacy disclosures will be updated before the changed version is distributed.
